Delicious Macarons, Now With Elbow Room.
Those who have frequented the MacarOn Cafe since it opened in the Garment District 7 years ago were likely to describe the store as "cozy" or even "snug." They also know that it was well worth cramming themselves into the walk-in closet of a space to get a taste of their delectable signature dessert. Today we bid au revoir to trading personal space for fabulous french fare.
MacarOn Cafe has gotten bigger and better with their move across the street to 142 West 36th Street. The sandwiches, salads, coffee and of course, macarons that have made them a Garment District favorite are still there, but with some great new additions as well, such as elbow room, a large amout of seating and table service!
With the added space, MacarOn Cafe wants to give back to the neighborhood and the industry that have kept them in business. Upon visiting the new location you'll notice a runway in the middle of the store. The owners are already in talks with emerging designers and fashion students to use this runway to display their lines and even hold mini fashion shows, all for free. A bulletin board will soon be up at the entrance to the cafe where local designers and industry people can post opportunities and events.
We at The Alliance look forward to many years of eating macarons and discovering out about new designers all while stretching out as far as we possibly can.
