Request For Proposals
The Garment District Alliance has issued an RFP for programming concepts to help strengthen the manufacturing sector of our neighborhood, which has historically been an important provider of jobs and a catalyst for economic activity in the area. However, over the past several decades, manufacturing has experienced decreasing jobs and diminished business activity.
The GDA has made a commitment to strengthen the competitiveness of the neighborhood's workforce and industry by funding, partnering or producing programs which help sustain the local garment industry ecosystem.
Find the RFP and more info at the link below. Submissions must be in accordance with GDA charitable mission, goals and district plan as well as other applicable regulations.
The deadline for submissions to the RFP for Programming Concepts has been extended to June 27, 2019
For any questions, please contact Jerry Scupp at firstname.lastname@example.org. Answers will be posted below.
Q: Are we able to submit 2 proposals for different programming concepts?
Q: Does the GDA have an outreach plan for the special programming or should a proposal include one?
A: Including an outreach plan would strengthen a proposal, however, it is not required at this initial stage. Having a defined outreach strategy will certainly be a requirement when negotiating an agreement with an organization that presents a concept which merits our consideration
Q: If you can, please help me understand or direct me to the organizations, companies or people that will help us make a strong impact.
For example: Who are the garnet manufactures, the backers (financiers), the showrooms, the designers, the "piecework" people, who outsources work and why?
If you can please help me, so I can start to write this proposal.
A: The Garment District Alliance will work with proposers to refine programs, if they are selected for potential funding, in the negotiation stage. We cannot provide research or otherwise assist in the development of the proposal. I would recommend utilizing the directory on the GDA website: http://garmentdistrict.nyc/local-business/fashion/fashion-directory/?edit&language=en-us
