This summer, the Garment District Alliance partnered with the New York City Department of Transportation to transform the block of Broadway between 37th and 38th Streets into the Urban Garden, a car-free public space featuring a street mural by artist Carla Torres, turf installations, decorative bike lane separators, and a weekly pop-up free lemonade stand.
During the final week of the Urban Garden in August, C&C Market Research conducted intercept surveys of 1,000 people distributed evenly across all five blocks of Broadway in the Garment District to gather feedback about the event and gauge interest in future public space improvements.
