Thursday Block Parties
New this summer, Charlie Palmer Steak New York (47 West 38th Street) will be hosting a weekly Thursday Block Party series on the restaurant’s patio, located at Archer Hotel. Each week, guests will be introduced to a selection of the city’s most interesting movers and shakers, ranging from prominent New York editors to A-list members of the hospitality industry, to host a panel discussion alongside complimentary happy hour fare.
The next Block Party begins on Thursday, June 16 at 5:00 p.m. with our own tour guide Mike Kaback, sharing his unrivaled expertise on the history of the Garment District.

Mike Kaback, Garment District Expert | Thursday, June 15 | 5:00 – 7:00 pm
The unofficial historian of the Garment District, Michael Kaback, a “garmento” himself for many years, will guide us through a brief history of the apparel industry in New York City, from Henry Hudson to the present time. Old Fashions will be served as Kaback discusses the advent of mass production, the development of “sizes,” the invention of synthetic fibers, and the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire.
Melissa McCart, Editor, Eater New York Thursday, June 22 | 5:00 – 7:00 pm
With a pulse on New York City’s culinary scene, Eater New York Editor Melissa McCart will take a seat on the patio to dish about the city’s hottest chefs, menus and predict which items will be popping up on our Instagram feeds this summer. Mini 50/50 Burgers will be served, a special request by our in-house Eater.
New England Charcuterie, Owner, Joshua Smith | Thursday, June 29 | 5:00 – 7:00 pm
With over 15 years of experience creating and curing charcuterie, Joshua will slice into his latest releases, sharing his passion, knowledge and hand-crafted process with patio guests.
Brunch Boys, President, Jeremy Jacobowitz | Thursday, July 6 | 5:00 – 7:00 pm
With a growing influence of over 390k Instagram followers and a keen eye for a stellar brunch menu, Jeremy will spin Charlie Palmer Steak New York’s new doughnut wheel and share his story of rapid social media growth and his favorite part about brunch in the city.
Citymeals on Wheels, Executive Director, Beth Shapiro | Thursday, July 13 | 5:00 – 7:00 pm
As Executive Director of one of the city’s most respected nonprofit organizations, Beth recently launched the Chefs Deliver program for Citymeals, which takes the city’s best chefs out of the kitchen to deliver restaurant quality meals to elderly, housebound New York residents. Beth will be joined by Charlie Palmer to discuss the growth of the program and plans for the future.

Go-to wedding cake designer for Manhattan’s A-list, Ron Ben-Israel, joins our patio panel for a decadent cake tasting and interactive demo. He’ll also be answering our questions about dessert trends for weddings and special events.

Mario Cantone is an American comedian, writer and actor, with numerous appearances on Comedy Central including Chappelle's Show. He is widely known for playing Anthony Marentino on the hit show and movie Sex and the City. He’ll chat with his good friend Charlie Palmer on what’s new in his world and answer the question everyone is dying to know: Will there by a Sex and the City 3?
