Urban Garden Intercept Survey
For three months, Garment District Urban Garden brought a huge increase in public space to our neighborhood and featured an array of amenities and activities for New Yorkers and visitors alike, including custom permaculture parklets, café tables and chairs, planters, birch trees, and turf boxes, as well as the UrbanSpace Garment District food market, a lemonade stand, and weekly fitness classes.
To find out what the "people on the street" thought about the seasonal placemaking program we commissioned an intercept survey that targeted 1,000 pedestrians along Broadway.
The response was overwhelmingly positive to the street closure, Urbanspace Food Market, public art, and plantings. Find the full details of the survey at the link below.
