Emergency Snow Shovelers are called on after heavy snowfalls to remove snow and ice citywide from public areas like bus stops, crosswalks, fire hydrants, and step streets.
Shovelers who register at a DSNY registration event prior to Nov. 30 will be eligible for a paid four-hour orientation in December, as well as fast-tracked processing to receive a paycheck within two weeks of working.
Requirements
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Physically able to perform heavy, physically demanding labor in adverse winter weather conditions.
The Manhattan registration event will be this Saturday, September 26, 9am - 5pm at The Manhattan Center for Science and Mathematics located at 260 Pleasant Avenue.
