On June 24, 2010, 30 stunning ladies were unveiled on Broadway, officially launching SIDEWALK CATWALK, the first Broadway Sculpture installation by the Garment District Alliance (then Fashion Center BID).
SIDEWALK CATWALK Presented by LF USA was a public art exhibition featuring mannequin art pieces by 30 of New York's leading designers and two student design teams from parsons The New School for Design and FIT. Internationally renowned mannequin fabricator, Ralph Pucci International, created custom mannequins for this exhibition, which were then transformed by the designers into one-of-a-kind sculptures that were on display all Summer in the Garment District Plazas along Broadway from Times Square to Herald Square.
Designers worked with consultants from Material ConneXion, an international materials consultancy, to select the innovative, weatherproof materials they used for their creations. Major sponsors of the exhibition included LF USA, Macy's, The New York Times, and HP.
